Bas Groeneweg started PerfoTec 10 years ago. In his former job he experienced what fine tuned packaging could do on Brussels Sprouts. He saw that smaller holes were better for the product because they reduced decay. After diving in to the literature of fruit and vegetables, he made a plan. He also discovered that it was possible to microperforate in line on packaging machines of fruit and vegetables. He searched for cooperation, and found it in Mundi Laser Technology. In 3 years they designed a laser that fits on almost every packaging machine. Together with TOPbv PerfoTec designed the respiration meter. A meter that is able to measure the respiration rate of fruit & vegetables in order to calculate the transmission per pack. The unique shelf life extension technology of PerfoTec was born.
