Extended shelf life with PerfoTec LinerBag
The Dutch trade magazine for the food industry EVMI has devoted an illuminating article to fresh produce and sustainability. Packaging producer Oerlemans and PerfoTec started a collaboration in 2020 to further optimize the sustainable properties of packaging for fruit, vegetables and flowers. This significantly extends the shelf life of fresh produce, but it also tackles both food waste and CO2 reduction! This results into less quality losses and more costs saving, while using sustainable packaging for fresh produce.
“It is no sinecure to store, package and transport agricultural and horticultural products without loss of quality. By combining knowledge and expertise, PerfoTec and Oerlemans can jointly offer a unique, shelf-life extending film. South American asparagus is now fresher after three weeks at sea than under the old conditions via air freight.”
